California duster

Was wondering if the California duster is worth using to remove light dust off the vehicle (especially if unable to wash your car at that time) Car has full PPF .

What other brands do you guys recommend for removing light dust off the vehicle.

OnR or any rinse less wash. Dilute it down to a Quick detailer spray.

Only do that if you are desperate and have VERY light dusting. Your best bet is to just wash it.

OP, I'm not sure how interested you are in the upkeep of your own vehicle. But I can point you in the "professional" direction, although, I'm no professional, myself, but I do a quite extensive hobby detail, myself. Just offering some YouTube channels to check out. These may help to get you in the right direction.

It is possible to scratch some films. "Most" of the higher end films have a hydrophobic coating, as well as "some" self healing properties, but not all films. Xpel Ultimate and STek DynoShild are the 2 that do. There are others, but you're probably wasting your time, as these 2 are the best. STek having better clarity, versus Xpel.

You're welcome. I believe there are probably more, on my actual list. This was just shot off the hip, as probably some of my favorite channels.

Chromatic Garage, is another one that I forgot. He probably makes some of the highest production ASMR detailing videos. These are really worth checking out.

The Rag Company also has some good videos, as well as Esoteric. Rupes (pronounced Roo-Pez) has some great training and how to videos. KxK Dynamics, don't do much in the video department. But Jason Killmer is a detailing magician.

Im not a PPF guy at all. But if I had spent 5K+ for it, I would have expected it to allow me to wipe off light dust with detail spray without fear of spiderweb scratches, swirls or marring.

I have full STek, and although I don't think I would ever try it, I could probably California Duster my car, off, without any problems. If it creates a swirl, the next time the car is out in the sun, for 2 minutes, the swirl will be gone.

I have used a California duster on my vehicles for years now. Not once have they cause any "visible" scratches to the paint.

I suppose on some level it may have created some micro scratches that you only see in very particular lighting conditions and viewing angles but certainly nothing of concern or even noticeable.

I've even used it a few times on the M3 without any issues.
