I just got this in the mail and came to check this out. Wasn't this one done already? The replacement also bad?

One thing you could do is unplug the heater element for the time being.

So looked and mine was done but apparently the replacement has a recall now. Hilarious.

Thankfully in a warm climate so don't use it but will have the Indy do it once the part is available since my dealer constantly fucked shit up.

I just unplugged mine for now.

Wonder if they just gave us brand new, but still problematic, heaters while they cooked up (lol) a solution

I was surprised when I got the recall letter. Mine was replaced almost 4 years ago as indicated by the paperwork the PO gave me when I bought my car. But since I swapped intake manifolds, it's no longer an issue for me.

I never bothered getting the first recall because the dealer is far away and I wasn't worried about it. seems like my procrastination paid off..

Any fault codes or other issues if you leave the heater unplugged? I have an oil catch can so I don't think the heater element is of any use in my case.

Mine was replaced when the original recall came out. Got this recall as well.

No issues on my wiring or unit, but I just had my wife unplug it since her hands were able to squeeze through the intake manifold 😂 there was stories of that shit catching on fire even when the engine wasn’t running

No fault codes. Plus if you think about it, a lot of older cars don't have a PCV heater (my E36 didn't) so you should be fine.

Did you delete the PCV Heater Elbow in the intake manifold swap?

Yes. My setup is a hose running from the port on the VC to a barb fitting on the intake manifold.
