What's people options for replacing grills, spoilers, splitters etc either black gloss or carbon fibre.

Was all set to order replacement parts in carbon fibre but now changing mind to the black gloss.

I have X6 M50i and just dont like the grey/silver trims it comes with, car colour dark grey

Either one would be an upgrade imo. I went black gloss but that was a rookie mistake. I should've gone CF. I'm learning.

Honestly think it is all personal taste. I have shadow line on my black sapphire m50i but cf front and rear lip as well as cf center caps and roundel emblems. The cf kind of sticks out a bit. I think the black would blend in and make it look a bit more oem.

Carbon fiber looks like aftermarket part from AliExpress, whereas glossy black doesn't.

I replaced my grille with BMW carbon fiber and the mirrors with autotecknic carbon fiber, I love the way it looks.

Waiting for my carbon fiber grille to arrive. I ordered about two weeks ago and it's apparently back ordered. Already have the BMW carbon fiber mirror caps installed and they look great.

As others have said these things are all subjective but I have a similar colour (Arctic Grey) with M-Sport Pro Pack (black grille, trims, exhaust tips, etc...) and I have just ordered Maxton front lip in gloss black rather than the other options as it matches the gloss black trims on the car already. To me this makes it look more like a factory fit.

I'm a big fan of carbon fiber, but not on the X5. To me, it's main purpose is weight savings. Weight reduction makes more sense on a smaller car or track car, not a family SUV. Don't get me wrong though, carbon fiber looks great but I like to reserve that look for my STI. That's just me personally. I'll still drool over quality CF parts regardless of what vehicle they are for.

I was more for looks. the weight reduction of these parts will mean little to nothing in the overall scheme of things if you are looking for performance enhancements.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love the looks too. I have a carbon fiber centrifuge rotor at work that I drool over.

Look at the weave on that thing!
