Rear climate control doesn't remember settings?

I will probably never have anyone in the rear seat and as it gets warmer I always want the rear climate control completely off. The problem is even though I turn it off in iDrive, it keeps turning itself on when I start the car again. Is there a workaround to this?

I've noticed this too but not dug in to it. Hope there's an answer out there.
