Sometimes, I can't unsee red calipers

I just ordered a PB M240 with blue (to my CA's dismay, not red) calipers. I have nothing against red calipers in general. I currently have them on my white car.

But on a bright blue car (or others) I can't take my eyes away from the red calipers constantly fighting for my attention. I want to be able to look at the car without having that gravitational pull back to the wheels.

I know many love the blue/red look, but wondering if others have the same kind of reaction I am describing?

I like the blue calipers. Most of my other cars have red. It's cool. But the blue is a nice change over red.

I agree red calibers are common and I feel the same way about the red on my bgm build that’s why I went blue 1- it’s different for a change and 2- like you said it draws your eyes to them to much that’s why I went blue

Plus my interior is black with blue stitching I think the blue calibers will tie it all together

I like the Red as it’s new to BMW. They’ve only ever had Blue for years and years so the colour change freshens things up a bit IMO

I personally like red, as the blue can blend in and not be noticeable, especially when they get dirty. I believe I read somewhere that the blue paint even darkens overtime. When fresh and clean, blue would look great on a blue car.

I am totally stealing someone else's photo so pls don't give me any credit, but someone posted a side by side edit comparing blue/red calipers on PB.

I personally love how it contrasts and adds a bit of pop. But I also love how blue calipers give it such a cohesive look. Damn I'm on the fence now, considering changing my order…

PS. Love how their editing software also changed the color of the bow

To each his own, but personally I don't like how the blue calipers look with the blue paint. Btw is this Bill Jacobs? Nice of them to add a bow, did you ask for that or was it just a surprise?

edit: nvm I just saw that it's not your photo lol

i could be biased as my GTI is charcoal, with red calipers

I have a PB and went with Red b/c I also have the Tacora Red interior, so I felt it added some cohesity to the design.

I went with blue on my PB order. I too was drawn to the red calipers way too much.

my order is a mineral white with blue calipers and black w/ blue stitching interior. I feel that it's gonna tie together pretty nicely.

I was literally just about to ask for some advice on this

I have a Thundernight metallic car on order. and my instinct was blue calipers. But the red certainly does "pop" more and is a newer colour so I'm getting tempted to change the spec.

Thoughts?

I was originally going to order TN with blue calipers. I really like that combo but decided TN was too much for me as a DD.

With a PB car you have to paint the calipers black to help your eye make the best of it.

BMW boxed customers into color clash without a black caliber given the 2er exterior color options. A blue standard caliper makes no design sense. Thunder also needs black calipers but at least the purple color really pops and was done correctly unlike PB which is messy.

Blue Calipers here on my Blue vehicle.. red calipers are on many other Vehicles, and I thought would clash with the beautiful Blue exterior color

I'll likely change my calipers to black for the same reason OP doesn't want red. It seems passé to highlight the calipers on a stock braking system in 2022.
