Sprint mode
Has anyone tried the Sprint mode function on there M240i yet?
![]() It might work on the 220i and 230i as well ![]() Have tried it I comfort and eco pro and works great ![]() When driving normal pull and hold the left paddle and it changes to sprint on the dashboard, dropping to the lowest gear available and your off like a rocket, then just use the paddle’s to change up, great for when you just want to overtake some slow moving traffic ![]() |

Just watched a video on it the other day. Seems like a very useful feature and I will probably use it quite a bit when I get my vehicle.

Fantastic, that save me trying to video it myself, it was a bmw mechanic that mentioned it to me but for other another reason. He says try it when slowing down and you get some nice pops and bangs from the exhaust ![]() |

Comes in so handy when you're in efficiency mode and need to over take!

Actually found this out by accident when trying to see what would happen. (I work in Software QA, so doing this type of action just for the hell of it, is in my nature lol)
It's such a treat, and can come in handy so often when you're in comfort or eco and just need to pick up quickly. My only gripe with this is... If you're in any of the sport modes, holding the paddle still puts you in "Sprint" mode. This to me is a missed/failed opportunity. IMO, holding down the paddle when you're already in one of the sport modes should just drop to the lowest gear and keep you in wtv mode you're in. Instead, you're still sent into "Sprint" mode when in Sport. Now.. that being said, I don't think it's that big of an issue as I believe Sprint mode just mimics Sport mode, but as a whole, would be cool to just kick down and stay in Sport Plus. Regardless, super awesome feature! |
