G42 M240i stance on Eibach springs

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Finally picked up my new G42 M420I in Thundernight Metalic and I absolutely love it!

It has been around 2 weeks now and development has been going smoothly, there are a few things that we have tested and will be on the car in the up coming weeks which I can't wait to show you but at the moment she is sitting pretty on Eibach springs which lower the car around 20mm front and rear.

The drop is currently bedding in and over all I am really impressed with the quality of the ride while still giving a very noticeable difference in handling. Eibach are well known for their OE ride quality while providing a noticeable drop, body roll in corners has been near eliminated yet still being a phenomenal daily driver and not being too harsh on speed bumps and pot holes.

Paired up to complete the look you can never go wrong with Bimecc spacers running a 12mm on the front and 15mm on the rear to thicken up the stance and make the tuck perfect!

As more people take delivery and begin modding these amazing cars Im looking forward to seeing the other options that are available. Drop some Images of yours below and let me know what you are thinking of this set up as well as what you plan to run.

Nice. Pro kits have always been a solid choice for an adequate drop. Hope the stock shocks hold up well. Car looks great man.

It's a very familiar feel! You'd need to hit one hell of a pot hole or bump at speed to feel anything that resembles bounce. Super happy with it

Hi,

Please could you confirm if that stance kit would be ok for the 220i model?

Thanks!

That's the point which bother me a bit: will the damper handle the new spring?

Your car looks amazing by the way. Love your configuration

Looks awesome. Do you need to cut the bump stop when install?
Noticed the MMS adjustable springs kit included two shorter bump stops for the front. Thanks

This is my Brooklyn grey definitely needs lower

I'm trying to find real data on this...

I think there is some sort of tolerance that the dampers have been engineered for.. A drop like this (20MM / 0.78in) should be acceptable, I think?

Looking to pull the trigger on some springs soon, so if anyone has good info on this, that would be great!

They are more than capable so all you need to do is replace the springs, we have done countless set ups now with no problems at all.

Hey I'm interested in buying the Eibach lowering springs for my g42 but what I'm wondering is I have a standard set up with 235/40r19 all around would wheel spacers be necessary not really interested in poke or look really I think the ride hight is what I'm looking for and slightly heavier steering feel

If using the stock low profile tires I think eibach is the best choice. If using larger wheels/and or tires (like me) H&R offer the more aggressive drop (35/30) and proper ride height for front lip clearance. Keep these things in mind when choosing springs or just go MSS adjustable

Personal taste and preference but this is a drop done properly. Noticeably lower from stock but maintains an equal fender to wheel gap all around - the stance just looks proper and very "OEM+".

Ok i'm seeing 245/35/19 front and 255/35/19 rear in the pics and 8.5" front and 9.5" rear for the 893m rims.
I've had 275 tires on 9" rims, so ya these are stretched a lot.

So I just had the Pro Kit installed on my G42 and instantly I noticed a knocking sound when I drive over even the slightest post hole or bump. Is this normal or something that goes away with time? Or did my shop install these incorrectly….
