Ongoing discussion, posting here for more attention: 2022 M240i xDrive Roof Racks https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1906868

We need a 2022 M240i owner in the Atlanta area who'd be willing to work with Stealth Hitches in order to fabricate a hitch receiver for our cars. THE HITCH RECEIVER WOULD BE FREE FOR THE VOLUNTEER! And you'd be helping fellow owners!

I'm willing to throw in $50 toward a volunteer fund. Anybody else want to sweeten the deal for that special someone that volunteers?

Another mountain biker here looking for a hitch rack. I am willing to take my car to Atlanta (9 hour drive) assuming they only need the car for a maximum of 2 days. My car is currently in transport and should be in my hands end of May or early June. I will try reaching out to stealth hitch today and see if I can schedule a date.

Just spoke with stealth hitch and they are not interested in developing a hitch for the 2 series.

Damn. That's a bummer. Do they not have the capability as of now? What about in the future?

I was told the 2 series is too low volume to be worth it to them. Not sure about the future but doesn't sound promising. I may find a local fabricator and try to adapt the hitch from a 21 model. I'm willing to add $50 for someone to take their car to torklift central in Washington.

I'd certainly throw my $50 toward someone in the Pacific NW heading over to Torklift for a fitting. Assuming Torklift is interested in the 2 Series.
Pretty sure forum user acouncilofone is in the PNW and due to receive their order soonish, their 2 was on the same boat as mine which arrived in Hueneme yesterday. No idea if they might be interested in a hitch though.

Anybody use the sea sucker option? Need to try to figure out what to do until we have a hitch available for this car. Curious how the sea sucker would mount on the 240 and could it mount on only glass, sunroof and rear glass? Don't feel comfortable putting it on the paint.

Buy the BMW roof rack. It's more secure that SeaSucker.

A little late but I'm in for $50 to get a hitch thing going. That's so disappointing about StealthHitch! I've got one for the F22 and a game installer who might be up for modifications.
I wish we could get the euro hitch over here!

Maybe StealthHitch would do it if we paid them for it? Or guarantee a minimum order.

How about I start a group buy list and we can go to them saying we have X number of people committed to buying them for the car? I'll start with the folks who have volunteered to offer monetary contributions. Based on the previous generation stealth hitch, this is a $570 commitment.

It seems a hitch is available for European market. Anyone know if it's possible to get one for US market.

M240i a little different https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1922656

Doesn't look like that would fit a bike rack? It's a towing hitch from the looks of it? Maybe there are adapters?

BMW also has an accessory platform style bike rack that fits into this hitch. I guess it's an option, but now we're getting into probably
$1000+ territory plus shipping. And I'd really like to continue using my 1up bike rack which fits my Fatbike.

I've taken measurements from my car and spoken to stealth hitches and it seems the 3 series hitch should fit. I might have to make some small adjustments to get the receiver below the bumper but that would be an easy fix. Ordered the hitch yesterday, once I get it installed I'll report back.
