1000 miles with 335D @ 40.9 mpg
I have finally arrived in Scotland after about 1000 miles driving. Sitting within most lower speed limits and cruising at about 140km/h (ish) everywhere else.
Also spent 2 days trawling through London traffic - ugh. With Tony's kind help and organising, I had the tracking tweaked by the Lads at Battersea. Big to Tony and the Lads. Very happy with the result, not a big change in settings but a noticeable improvement in stabilty and steering feel. After the tracking - a blast up the UK home. Pretty happy with 40.9 mpg overall door to door And the Diesel (ultimate etc. variants) certainly seems better than what I get ... or perhaps the big run did my car good. D.

Hi Dave Glad the work has given the result you wanted. You'll never be able to get rid of all the tramlining and camber following, simply because the tyres on our cars or so wide. However, I'm sure you'll find the alignment has given you a much more relaxing driving environment!! Enjoy being home..!

nice mpg, I tend to average 34.8 most of the time. Allthough a while back I managed 51mpg over a 'very steady and conservatively' driven tankfull !

Now back in CH, had a week of driving in the city. Tippy-toeing about in the snowy weather on my summer tyres at the moment.
Came back through Hull last Sunday, sea was a bit choppy ! With a lot of gallavanting about in Scotland my overall mileage was just over 3500 miles for the month (one week of which was out of operation due to catching the blasted Flu!) at an average of 37.1 mpg. Not bad going Just about made it back from my house in Scotland to Switzerland on one tank ... but was about 50 miles short. So topped up a bit early. D.

Car is driving much nicer, Tony - thanks for your help The E92 seems to be setup like a modern fighter when it comes to tracking, just keeping it on the edge of instabilty to capitalise on turn-in ... but seems to make it very sensitive to getting it correctly aligned.
After spending some time in a new Focus and Fusion when I was back I really miss a car that does not tramline, and can be guided by fingertips. Hacking on down B and unclassified roads with varying roadsurfaces and cambers was a hoot in those cars, in mine it was fidgeting, tugging and crashing/skittering over the undulations. I have come to the conclusion it is mostly down to the tyres. As my present Bridgestone tyres come to the end of their lives ... I think I will replace them with a set of Michelin PS2 RFTs after hearing the positive feedback here in comparsion to the Bridgestones. At about 160 Km/h the Bridgestones work well. But I usually spend my time pootling around in a suburban environment ... and on Swiss A roads (Strongly controlled at 80 Km/h = 50 mph) with the odd blast down the Autobahn (120 Km/h ~ 75 mph). D.
