50th Anniversary Badging

Did anyone else manage to order theirs with the Heritage Badging before it was taken down? Out of all the ones ordered at my dealership I seem to be the only one. It seemed to be available for only a couple of months.

I ordered them and then when I was told my order could be a 2023, I removed them from the build. Didn't want 50th Anniversary badges on a possible 51st year car. The strange thing was when I had them removed, my status went from order received to scheduled for production.

I was feeling the same way, I think the round of allocations released in late March is still MY 2022. Mine just went into production and on the dealer tracker it says 222K which means it should still be a 2022 (fingers crossed).

I had my Dealer add the emblems after my car already had a production date, I've actual had 3 dates so far and then it went back to order received after I added the badges. No date at this point.

I understand that BMW just announced a limited run of 500 cars for NA designated as 50th year Anniversary G80 M3's for model year 2023.

If BMW says 2023 is still a part of the 50th year celebration, I don't see the problem of extending the same liberty to other ///M or M lite variants if one wishes to do so.

Just FYI they’re basing the badges on calendar year, not model year. Early 2022s like mine couldn’t get them, and they’ll be removed before model year 2023 ends.

I had mine ordered back in November. Never had the option to get them. Currently work for a dealer and have a set on order but it is on a national freeze. I ended up tracking a set down at a dealer in the UK and they are sending them my way. Should be here within a week. I can keep everyone updated if they want to see them on a G42 and the look. Still keeping my order in the States here in case the freeze is lifted.

Mine has the badging and is sitting in production started. I think if you have the badging on your build then it'll be a MY22, when did you place your order?

Mine has the emblems in the build and is "scheduled for production". Week 24 build start according to the Genius.

I'm one of the few hoping to get bumped to 2023 but will be happy with a 2022 if that's what I get.

If you can, ask your CA if your order was placed in priority 1. My guess is they either didn't place yours as a priority 1 order, or they weren't truthful when they told you they had an allocation. I know there was a round of allocations in Late March but I don't recall any in early March. Are you tracking the vehicle through My Garage or just getting updates from your CA/Genius Hotline?

I originally wanted to add the 50th anniversary badges on my build but decided not to based on the possibility that it could delay production. I ordered back in January and just took delivery this week.

My stance on 50th anniversary badging has also shifted since the release. I don’t think anyone with a 2022 M car or M light needs to have a badge to prove that it’s a 50th anniversary car. The VIN/model year already tells us that by simply being a 2022 model year. So although the aesthetics are cool, I don’t necessarily think it adds major significance to the purists out there.

These only look good on certain colors IMO. On white they look awesome. I didn’t love how they looked on Brooklyn gray so I removed them from
my build.

I have them on my build and i'm at 112 currently. Over the weekend (ordered with same CA as me) saw a G82 with the 50th emblems. They looked good. He stated that he added them after the original order was placed, and didn't delay it more than it already was. But it may be different with that platform. idk

FWIW, their Instagram page says: "Not affiliated with OEM manufacturers."

But, I'd contact them and ask if they are OEM.

Those color options are legit.

Why does BMW only save them for special editions though?

Nice! Was kinda sad when saw you were ditching the car. So now you are getting the MY 2022?

Wouldn't be very special special editions if they didn't have special colors
