First Service Cost

Good Afternoon Ladies, Gentlemen.

What is the cheapest any of you have found your first service to be? I am 1200 miles away from mine in my 330d and need to start thinking about it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I suggest that you ring your dealer and ask for the price. It's a pretty standard thing.

Thanks. Local dealer is quoting £240. Is this about right?

you would think so but it certainly isn't. I'm in range of three main dealers who quoted £120, £188 and £236 for the same service.

My local dealer (Swindon, close to my head office) quoted the £240. Did say they would price match up to 50 miles away. London is also a possible for me as I live there.

Yup. Still going ahead with the remap though. Even if it gets wiped off, I want it for the Christmas Triangle. Home, Parents, In-Laws then home. Need to do it quickly.

I'm after an e92 on an 07 - test drove the 330d the other week. Loved it. Gorgeous machine.

Anyway back on track - give your dealer a ring, it is standard pricing - plus whatever else might be wrong (which should be nothing at that mileage!).

what do you mean "per dealer"?

If you phone dealer "A" for the price of an Inspection 1 and then phone dealer "B" and ask for the same you will invariably get a different price, hence it is always best to phone around.

At my first service they also renewed all the brake fluid, in addition to oil, micro filter, wiper blades etc. Depends how long you have owned the car.

I mean the price at a single dealer won't vary. Shop around if you like, I've used the same one for nearly 5 years... more fool me I suppose but better the devil you know!

If you're really bothered about price go to an Indy... it WILL be cheaper. For me its just as important to trust they do a good job as well as the cost of it.
