New owner of a 2022 BMW 230i...

Bought this May 31:

Brooklyn Grey. Has the red leather interior, M Sport package and some other packages, 19" wheels with high performance tires, but no limited slip diff or "big" brakes. Oh, it does have a sun roof. I would not have built a car with the sun roof and I don't use a sun roof but I bought this car off the lot. The wait time for an ordered car was estimated to be around 6 months. This is what the dealer said and that makes it suspect to some extent but my research indicated an ordered car would take months to arrive. Since I had a low miles trade in and used car prices were while up were starting to trend down I felt it better to do the deal now.

Have put just over 200 miles on the car. And I have to admit I'm loving it. A nice balance of power, weight, size, and "luxury".

While I don't drive that much -- retired -- I still can't help but be aware of gas mileage and this car is delivering 25mpg average under the same driving conditions my M-B cargo van (which I use as my "daily driver") can only manage 22mpg or my previous car could only manage 15mpg.

On a level stretch of freeway at 70mph -- using cruise control -- the instantaneous gas mileage reading was a solid/steady 40mpg. Under similar conditions the van can muster around 25mpg and my previous car around 22mpg.

The NAV works just great using voice commands. Learning the dash/center stack controls.

8-speed automatic is very nice. I use sport mode but still observe the engine break in guidelines. I disable that awful auto stop/start feature. Last car I owned with this was my 2018 MINI Cooper S JCW. But the MINI had a toggle switch to turn this feature off.

Looking forward to enjoying this car for some time to come.

I think this should be in the G42 forum.

I was about to buy one of these instead of my 228IX Dr., but after coming from a Mini Cooper S I just needed more space, sure the backseats of my two series gran coupe are not comfortable but having four doors is nice. That being said I’m surprised you’re only getting 25 miles per gallon, when a 330I with an identical drive train averages 28 to 30 miles per gallon combined. The G20 330I gets better gas mileage than the F44 228i, most likely due to the excellent eight speed ZF transmission…

Yep wrong thread. It always seems strange that some critics of the GC call it ugly when clearly the two door coupe clearly is..

If I posted in the wrong forum I apologize. Hopefully a moderator will move this then to the proper forum.

I would be happy to. But I would like to see my thread moved to the right forum first.
