A local dealer (Delmarva) asked for $25k over MSRP for an early allocation for a G87. Initially they suggested $10k, but demand to get on the waiting list to get on the order list is apparently high. Ouch.

I'll give credit to my sales guy. At least he was embarrassed for having to tell me. I don't think that's a sustainable request: I think at best a couple of people might pay a hearty amount over MSRP to be first on the block to get one, but I could be wrong.

I wouldn’t sweat it. F87 M2 will likely be thought of as better than the G87 M2. Also they are supposed to build the G87 M2 until 2029.

There are still dealers out there, who by policy will not charge over MSRP. NFW I'd give these clowns anything over and above.

My wife is taking delivery of a Jetta GLI in the next couple of weeks, been waiting about 6 months. MSRP plus the dealer will grant $500 discount for VW's "partner program", which they aren't even required to participate in. This is a Penske-owned dealership and last I heard, it was company policy to not exceed MSRP - not sure if this is still true across the whole company.

We bought our Mercedes GLB from a Penske dealership and they sold at MSRP at a time other dealerships were above.

I remember when the OG M2 came out... even my local small dealer had an LBB M2 for 5K over... someone still bought it next day... which makes you wonder considering that was just a few k short of a brand new M3...

I also remember there were some dealers charging $10~15k over for the OG M2. The dealership model has been broken for a long time. Bunch of money grubbing swindlers.
