Steering intervention can't be disabled (UK)
Just picked up my UK spec car today and under intelligent safety when I configure my individual to have lane departure warning and steering intervention off. They default to on every new journey. Is this intentional from bmw? Any way around it without using codes?

There a bit of a discussion here: https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1906414
I also did a bit of Google and found some of the G20 owners also complaining about it. Seems there is an OTA due for them not sure when this filters down to the G42. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1755297&page=5 |

In the US it stores the setting in your driver profile. So I turned it off once and it never came back. |

I'm on software verson 03.2022
I'm on Spain Same exact thing I'm starting to think this is NOT present in 2021 softwares some people have, so either: 1) It's a bug in 03.2022 version 2) It's something that does not only affect UK but several other countries and they applied this infamous and disgusting "set it off in each ride" at the same time for multiple countries. IT'S SOOOO DISGUSTING... |

I've had this problem in both my previous Volkswagen vehicles , it's a U.K. issue unfortunately ,not a BMW thing. Once you get the hang of turning it on and off it'll become second nature.

I think that much is the same in every market. The difference is that the US market vehicles (like mine) remember the setting if you disable the steering intervention. Whereas apparently the European ones make you turn it off every time you start the car. |

Never had this issue on my old F40 2020 135i on ID7 or my 2021 Supra. It remembers the settings for the collision avoidance.
Although as mentioned above at one stage they were not remembering the setting and turned out to be a bug/issue with an iDrive software version. This was then fixed the F40 from what I remember. Although appears to now be an issue on the G42 for some markets. Wil be interesting to see if a software update will fix this in the future or even if the new ID8 cars have this issue. Could also be due to the regulation change that is coming into play for EU https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/1...-how-they-work supposedly they need to be turned off at the start of each Journey and not rememberable. Like stop start function. |

Can the shortcut buttons on the dash be set to disable this each time the car starts rather than going through menus ?
When I had my test drive the end of March the car was a bit frightening until I worked out why the steering was doing strange things down the tight country lanes. Can it be coded out should bmw not update the sw to sort the problem ? |
