The Definitive Guide: BMW G42 2 Series & M240i

So this 'definitive' guide is very much a work in progress but I thought I'd share the current iteration and welcome any feedback or thoughts from you guys.

The aim here is to help new comers make buying decisions on their spec and first mods.

Check it out and let me know.

Its basically a promo for selling aftermarket products by Autoid.
Far from being a "definitive" guide to the M240. There are a number of quality m240 reviews out there that have far more meat on the bones in terms of describing what that car is and can do.

If it's not helpful, you don't need to read it

I suspect he really did not mean the above, or perhaps meant "only post positive feedback".

My point was perhaps missed...if this would have be characterized or put forth as a "guide to aftermarket alterations"... great....just call it what it is.
It is NOT a Definitive Guide to BMW G42 by any stretch of the imagination.

He said it's 'very much a work in progress' since you like to analyse word for word…boring. Just praise or move on if you have nothing nice to say, it's 2022 there's a lot of c**p going on in the world as it is. This is a vehicle forum for enthusiasts. You don't like it , speak to a wall, simple.

Wow I definitely didn’t intend to cause that much of a stir and perhaps my response was a little out of line.

I wrote the piece myself, out of hours, so put a lot of time into it. Hence my emotional rather than rational response.

All feedback is appreciated guys and if it’s too salesy, I’ll amend it to be more helpful. Any comments or constructive feedback would help

Yes, it is obvious a lot of work went into it and it I DO appreciate that you did so and posted it. So seriously, thank you for that.

I need to clarify my original comment...(and i also was too abrupt and did not give proper due to the work you put in).

My only concern was i felt the title of the document was not correctly geared to the content. And no, i did not think anything was too "salesy" in the content. I simply felt the title should reflect more the aftermarket stuff that the document nicely focuses on. A mere nitpick perhaps.

I appreciate the article, it summarizes a lot of the key items in one place (especially the engine codes).

My constructive criticisms:
  • Format that chart with actual grids (or make a photo) so it's easier to read
  • Add the US recommended packages as the majority on here are from there

I plan to do most of those mods, except some might be done with other vendors. Of course part of the write-up will have a bit of a sales pitch at the end. If they were shit mods that would be another thing...

Appreciate that man! I'll have a look into my side but I may need some help with the USA specs.

I think the photo option for the grid is a neat solution. I am working with the website guys to make our blog pages a little wider in order to fit more content on the page.

Haha cheeky! I can offer group discounts if people are looking to bulk purchase.

Appreciate it man, it's all love!! Think all too often companies are looking out for number 1 rather than customers so I am trying to implement a different philosophy with AUTOID, i.e trying to be helpful with insights I've found from my ownership experience
