Hi,

Recently took home an X5 45e in Arctic Grey and being new to the DFW area, getting used to the heat here. Wanted to see if anyone could recommend tint shops locally. After looking around the forums, I did not find any local DFW recommendations. Seeing some of the botched jobs has me a bit concerned since I've never "had" to tint windows before living mostly up north. Looking to go with 30% up front and maybe 25% or 15% for rears. Any thoughts on the rear glass or windshield?

Local dealership quoted $499 for Llumar CTX with lifetime warranty and job done in house. Felt like that might be $100 - $150 over priced, but just want the job done right and without damaging the car.

Agree a bit high, but not unusual. Local dealer charges $500 for 2 front windows only as a dealer add-on.

$5 is the normal rate at my Indy for all 4 doors quarter and rear.
Dealer or Indy , doesn't matter. Installer is key.

For the rears, I'd do 70. The rears doors and trunk is plenty dark....
20% Front is a better match if you want it to match the rears.
35% will be less tenancy to get pulled over if you live in state where it's illegal

TX, the darkest legally allowed must not surpass a net reading of 25% for your front two windows. From a shop below:

"Therefore we recommend using a 30% window tint as this will read slightly above 25% once it is combined with the glass."

I was going to subscribe to that logic and would prefer the rears to be close to a little darker.
