Where did this plug come from and where does it go?

I'm in the process of replacing the fuel filter/pump on my e91 and upon removal of the rear seats, I see this long plug under the bottom cushion of the rear passenger seat. Where does it plug in to? I don't see anything near it that it would plug to and it's pretty long.

That plug is used by BMW to maintain the cars battery during shipping. It just kinda hangs there after that. It confused me when I saw it as well.

Thanks! Glad it's not something out of the ordinary.

Yep! Nothing to worry about. It does seem very out of place on a car that is otherwise free of strange or unpolished details even beneath the surface.
