Interior lighting hidden feature

Voice command "set interior lighting to blue(or any color you want ) with white contour (or any other color you want)"

The door panel will be the contour color, pretty cool!

I've found that blue with white contour looks the best, but it's a good feature for any color

You can really mix other colors with it? I knew you could mix the colors with white but I didn't know you could do like lilac and blue or something like that

I honestly haven't tried other colors, but I would think so

You can change colors via idrive settings. Not sure how this is a hidden setting, it’s right in the menus and pretty much everything in the menus can be operated via voice

The contour feature is not in iDrive to manually select, only voice command.

You can also code hidden colors most likely. Pink, red etc - Those weren’t available on the truck by default. I’ll try next week when I have the car

Unfortunately pictures you posted aren't for the G42. The other vehicles in the G code lineup have the dual ambient lighting strip above and under the door handle.

G42 doesn't pic for reference below, so not sure how you would be able to select multiple colors like you can in the menu of the other G series vehicles.

That wasn’t the point or what I said . I said you can code and add hidden colors on almost every bmw. That was my Truck/X3 as I also mentioned and used it for a reference to show colors that aren’t there by default. I didn’t say you can alter the lighting and make it dual ambient as that would be impossible lol

Have you ever coded a car before? I’ve been doing it for a long time on many platforms.

Yes, I have done quite a bit of coding on both the VAG platform and the BMW platform. Most recently in my F82 and the G01. As the OP stated the dual color options ie: white/blue, In the G01 I was able to get the red and blue as the dual color combo, in addition to the factory options of white/bronze, white/orange, white/green, white/blue, white/lilac or all solid colors.

So then why would you post a picture of a single color in an X3, when the OP is stating that he was able to get blue with white contour lighting. I'm trying to understand which of the lights would be white and which would be blue as the G42 doesn't have the upper and lower strip like your X3 does.

I literally just stated you could code colors that are hidden by bmw. Not everyone knows about coding and hidden features and or different color options. Since you know about coding, you should know the picture i posted was in reference to the colors I coded that were hidden(as i said) You showed a picture of a G42 like I don’t know what the ambient lighting looks like lol - Not arguing/debating back and forth all day tho,it’s a waste of time ✌🏻
