2007 328i-like whistling sound when driving...

A fade whistling/horn sound while driving, but don't know where it's coming from. It occurs 70% of the times and only during driving. Does anyone have the same issue?

Note: If the car in park, you can rev it up to redline and release the gas, there is no noise. It makes noise only when driving. The sound is more like you blow air into the clarinet.

Valve cover/PCV? Always a good guess.

When I removed the valve cover to replace the gasket, I broke the PCV and replaced it with an aftermarket PCV. So it is new PCV.

[QUOTE=relative4;29118283]How long after the VCG job did these symptoms start?[/QUO

Few days ago, during the test drive after replacing the brakes, I noticed the gas was low so I poured in two gallons of 87 octane (from a can). After 10 minutes driving, the car stalled when I was slowing down to make a turn. Two lean codes P0171 & P0174 set. After that, I notice the whistling sound when I let go the gas pedal. But the lean codes do not come back after I put in 93 octane.

I don't think it's caused by the PCV. When car in park, you can rev to the red line and no noise. But it makes noise when you accelerate then release the gas pedal.
