jb+ 1/4 mile timeslip
2022 M240x
Runs all in the 11.70's with this exception that just squeaked by in the 11.6's. Not optimal conditions, high temps low humidity so less dense air. Also i was running a bit over 3/4 tank of gas so had needless extra weight. Tires stock Pirelli P-Zero summer peformance. Ran fuel mix of 92 octane non ethanol with a mix of E85 to achieve a calculated 94.5 octane. Best 0-60 foot time was 1.655 had a nice .05 reaction time on this one as well. Better atmospheric conditions of denser air and running a liter fuel load i suspect i could easily hit low 11.6's and possible break into 11.5's Anything lower than 11.49 i need helmet and fire suit. |

It seems to be accepted that a 30 percent ethanol mix works fine with our systems. Now it makes a diff if your "normal" 91 octane is 10 percent ethanol or not. There are online calcs to math figure it out, but generally with our tank size a full tank (e10) with about 3.5-3.8 gallons of e85 if i recall correctly. (e10 and e85 mix) There are calcs that will tell you the resulting octane count based on your inputs. I found some 92 octane non-ethanol and then mixed some e85 to get roughly 94 to 95 octane (forget exactly what it computed out to) but you get the idea. |

JB+ is not technically a tune but i know whacya mean. Speed at the end of the quarter mile is not a critical as the et times. Generally stock times I've seen range from 12.1 to 12.5 et. As i indicated it was not an optimal day (hot) and i had a lot of excess fuel weight (3/4 plus fuel tank). also there was a bit of quartering wind. Cooler day, less weight would perhaps get into the 11.5's. Half a second et change in the 1/4 mile is huge. The car does seem to run out of steam at the end of the quarter mile as it is definitely not pulling that hard anymore. |

Nice results, I went yesterday and ran 11.39 @ 118 with e30, map5 and highflow cat. My 60ft was 1.54 which is pretty wild for a heavy car. My JB4 log said it 0-60 in 3.0 but I’ll dragy soon and see.

This forum has a thread specific for posting M340i dragy or other verified quarter-mile timeslips. Perusing that thread shows: Stock times seem to vary between 12.19 to 12.34 times. Modified with just the JB4 (mine was the lessor JB+) seems to result in times ranging in 11.3 to 11.5. That will vary with the JB map chosen. Those with more mods (intake, catless DP, actual tune or chip) runs varying times from 11.3 to 12.27. Surprisingly not any faster generally than just the JB4 mod?? There may have been one faster that i missed? One very heavily modded ran a time of 9.98, awesome. |

Otherwise there is no reason to do a dp except for sound. I haven't looked at the 340i thread, but maybe the jb4s are not using the extra airflow of the dp. Yes, different map or tweaking with Burger's help. Plus some e85 🌽 |
