Sure looks like you got a puncture or crack in your gas tank but it's a little hard to tell exactly where it's coming from. Could be a fuel line or fuel pump has a bad seal. Looks most likely to me like a crack or pinhole in the tank though. Gotta get it on a lift and find out exactly where it's coming from.

Definitely smart to stop driving it before anything bad happens. Keep us posted!

Pull the rear seat and tank access covers. The senders crack and leak. Look in the search function.

Look at this link:

If it only leaks when the car's running it pretty much has to be at the fuel pump or a split in the fuel lines. The pop could've been whatever you hit that caused it, or it could've been a backfire if the fuel pressure suddenly went wacky as the DME tried to compensate for the leak.

This was my issue with gas smell at rear driver side. Fuel pressure regulator assembly under rear driver side seat is most likely leaking. The plastic cover degrades and cracks from age. I got loaner tool from auto store to loosen/tighten ring to replace assembly.
