Would you get carbon buckets knowing SO won't like them?

So I have been thinking about this for awhile.

I really want the carbon buckets as I love the look and I really do not like what the non-carbon buckets look like (assuming they will look like the M3/4). I know my wife will let me get any option I want if it makes me happy (yeah, she is awesome), but here is the thing. I am 100% sure she will hate the seats.

So now I am debating if I should consider them at all. If I do not get them, I can use the savings to maybe get an individual paint color (voodoo blue or Miami blue if available).

I wanted to see if any of you future G87 owners are in the same boat. If you are, would you still get them even if you know your significant other will hate them?

I would absolutely still get them. This car is supposed to make YOU happy, right? Unless this is a car you two are sharing I would still be getting them

My plan was to simply not bring up the fact there are non-carbon seats.

"Oh! I didn't realize that!"

I dont want to live in regret so will likely get them, especially if the base seats are the same as regular 240

in all honesty, I've never been a carbon fan nor the carbon buckets. I'm very happy with my M2C seats and if they are the same then perfect for me.

Depends how often she rides in the car. If once every blue moon, then I'd for sure tick that option. For me personally, the carbon buckets would be a big reason to move on to the G87, I really love those seats.

I would take the most base seats available and put there mine carbon GT3 seats I have now in F87 Comp with new individual upholstery to fit the rest of interior

I've seen the "quallity" of stitching on M4 carbon seats, especialy the entering edge of the seat which was in horrible condition after jist 5000 kms… plus I hate that d*ck holder :

Faced this same agonising decision with my M4 order. Had previously said I'd only get the standard but went all in, buckets for me.

I'm the only one that will drive it and the main front seats passengers will be my two teenage kids, OH usually sits in back anyway.

Though I heard M4 (I I guess M2) rear isn't particularly high and my oldest is 5'11".

I am undecided right now have to see what they come in at and the pricing of the MSRP. I think the wear on the bolster will kill me long term if I end up keep the car for more then 4 years.

Well the non-carbon buckets will not look like the M3/4 in the base G87.

I don't think we know that for sure yet. We still don't even know for sure if there will be a base only, comp only, or base and comp available at launch

I think its been confirmed that there will be not IX at launch and I think comp will follow m3/m4 so Auot and IX with a small tune. We will see.

They are a good deal in terms of bang for buck, but ultimately a very hardcore option when the stock seats are pretty solid (assuming we get M3/4 seats), with a great blend of daily driving capability and grip. A grumpy SO would be enough to tip me over the edge and uncheck the box. I'm not totally convinced they are going to be desirable down the road given how hardcore they are.
