Would you say the M240 is a polarizing car to drive?

It feels a bit rare when looking for new cars, outside of loaners of course, but in shopping for a M240, I've noticed an odd amount of used '22's with very few miles on them... especially considering they are nearly sold out "new" across the country. Thoughts on why these would be going up for sale after 500-1000 miles?

A lot of people have been selling their cars due to the spike in used car prices. I believe its currently on more of a downward trend now. To give you an example a friend of mine had a 2022 supra 2.0 earlier this year that he sold to carvana because they offered him around 4k more than what he paid new for it. I also sold my car to them because of the ridiculous offer. Overall I think there are very few of these M240s for sale across the country in comparison to most cars.

Very fair. im actually doing the same thing... buying a m240 because my macan is worth a little more than what i paid, so figured why not. i've had it for about 8 months tho, so people selling it after having it a month or 2 feels kinda... odd? plus, possibly a myopic view, but i feel like the '22 M240 will hold its value better than the average car, since it only had a 7-8 month production window, plus its the only version of the car that will have the current interior (i think the iDrive 8 hardware will be very polarizing in a car like the M240)

Getting rid of a car that fast is not something I would do but some people may just be disappointed or have their circumstances change maybe? I know I am beyond excited for mine and plan on keeping it for years so you wont see mine for sale lol.

You will always find this scenario with just about any make/model.

Peoples' needs and circumstances are always subject to change.

I honestly think it has to do a lot with the used car market. As said you could buy the car new and a few months later sell it for a profit which is crazy! It is going down now. I sold my 2016 WRX for a great price back in February, I loved driving that car but wanted something new and it was perfect timing to sell with the way the market was. Now waiting on my M240i! Hopefully next week!

love that! i had a '15 WRX, then moved to a '19 S3 for a bit, then i sold that bc of life circumstances for an RDX, then rolled the dice on a S6, and now have a macan. this market has been so enabling, because i'm not really losing money by doing all of this, where as i'd be down probably $20k in a normal market. picking up a m240i tomo

Just to reinforce what Soflaguy said, the local Lexus dealer has 3 new corvettes and the Jaguar dealer next door (same owner) has two more. One has 1300 mi and the others are all less than 500 mi. My feeling is that some are due to dealer finding what they thought were good deals and others were owners finding they did not meet their expectations after they got them. (Then there is the Florida thing where the owner buys, drives little, then it ends up in the estate.)
