Deposit Accepted!

Just put down my initial deposit to secure M2 Comp #1 at my dealership, and it feels great to be at the front of the line! Now I just have to wait and see the color choices to decide if I want to go with Individual paint or not.

Congratulations! I would do the same thing as long as I am sure that M2C will be available from next year. It seems not though

My dealership says orders should start around the end of the year. Fingers crossed.

I had the opportunity to be first on the list at my dealer when I took delivery of my M240i. They said $10k over sticker and I turned it down. Congrats, I hope you're getting a good deal.

Do you mind PMing the dealer you're working with?

You got lucky for sure getting the first slot this late into the game. Plenty of dealers that now have 5+ waiting.

Thanks for the contact of your dealer. He refused to take my deposit for PCD since it's such a laborious amount of paperwork and hassle to coordinate with the Performance Center. Said it wasn't worth the effort and headache for him since it'll be easy for him to sell every allocation he gets locally. SMH

Congrats!

Sadly no official confirmation on a competition model as of yet. We do know for certain that a base M2 begins production in December of 2022 and vehicle launch will take place in/around April of 2023.

That is absurd, the amount of additional paperwork performed for a PCD is minuscule. Pure laziness. The reality is they rather the sale stay local so they can get benefit from it in the back of the house, aka the service department.

Sorry about that, he texted me that he couldn't do it. Some people just don't want to put in the extra effort.

All good. I've done PCD twice before and never heard of the dealer complaining about paperwork. Kinda disappointed that someone wouldn't be willing to put in a little extra effort but maybe he's had a bad experience. I think a lot more east coast dealers have experience with it so maybe they've worked through all the kinks.

Yeah depending on the salesman, they may not want to go through the hassle. The initial paperwork isn't a big deal...it's literally just one form you submit with the clients contact info as well as the dealers...however its definitely substantially more work throughout the entire process after that. More tedious work than actual paperwork.

And like TUD said, it doesn't benefit the dealer after the sale.

Hi, would you mind sharing which BMW dealer is doing that? Dealers in NoCal didn't even take in deposits and didn't promise anything...

Arrowhead BMW, Peoria, AZ. Ask for Rus Smith and tell him Shawn Crofoot referred you.

That's fine, my deposit is specifically for the first Comp, I can wait a few extra months.

I'm not great at using this sites search feature. But I do remember him saying Comp could even be as late as LCI. This was said awhile ago.

Maybe someone else can find the quote.

Yeah I'm guessing the comp will be an LCI...meaning 3 years from now.
