Rennstand Jack Stand

Thinking about a new floor jack for use in the garage, three vehicles to deal with, 330i, X1 and X3.

While looking at jacks, stumbled across this , Rennstand Jack Stand. Wondered if anyone has purchased/used these at all. I think they were sold under the Safe Jack name at one time.

www rennstand.com

Any pros/cons, other than maybe the cost?

Seems like a good idea, but I usually just raise the front end of my 335 by placing a jack under the designated lift point under the car, just in front of the oil drain. Then I lower it onto the jacks stands. I guess Rennstand would at least negate having to get directly under the engine with a scissor or hydraulic lift.

They're pretty cool, but at $200 a pop that's quite a lot to spend. I guess if you have no other jacking spot it's about the best you'll get, but for the E90 you're better off with some Esco's.

I've really enjoyed life after purchasing a big ass floor jack for lifting at the front/rear lift points and using my jack stands after that. I need to get a set of 4 jack pad adapters and replace my jack pads, however.

Yeah, its useful for cars that dont give you that option but on our cars its super easy with a race jack and jack stands.

Yep, emphasis on the long reach/height as those ESCO are some tall stands, but man they are stout. You can feel comfortable with the car 21" off the ground, enough to rock a sleeper.

Get the Schwaben jack stands … they are like $50-60 each on ECS and can hold up a dump truck… not really but 3 tons each!

Hey, thanks guys for the input. I hadn't thought much about the jack stands at this point and appreciate the feedback. The rennstand caught my attention while looking at floor jacks, certainly those are pretty pricey.

Will research a bit more and looking closely at the Schwaben and ESCO product. Was considering HFT for a jack, but the Schwaben product looks interesting.

Thanks again!

This just reaches the front lifting point on my E90 with sport suspension. Probably need to drive onto blocks with lower suspension or a front lip.

Thanks, that happened to be one of the jacks that caught my attention. Seems to compare to the Schwaben jack. I am on sport suspension so should fit underneath good. Like that it has extended height.

Thanks again for the info.
