Hi G42 Owners,
I have officially joined the G42 fam!!! Today I traded in my 2020 228i Gran Coupè in Storm Bay Metallic back to the dealership and I placed my order for my 2023 M240i. I am so exited to get this car, the build will be shown below. If you have any tips or things you love about the car please feel free to share them below. Build Specs (Canadian Build): Brooklyn Grey Metallic Tacora Red Interior All Standard Equipment Premium Enhanced Package: - Comfort Access - Glass Sunroof - Driver Lumbar Support - Adaptive LED Headlights - Harman/Kardon Surround Sound System - Digital Cockpit Professional - Head-Up Display M Sport Pro Package: - M Sport Brakes, Red - Shadowline Headlights - Black Exterior Contents Universal Garage Door Opener Active Cruise Control w/ Stop & Go Parking Assistant Plus w/ Surround View iDrive Recorder Wireless Device Charging M Highlighters, Illuminated Adjustable Driver Seat Bolsters Newly Added: BMW M 50 Years Emblems Staggered Tire Setup (Code: 1VY) (Yes for 2023 they removed M Seatbelts and and 893M V shaped rims from the M Sport Pro Package. Why?? I don't know, I really wanted the M Seatbelts.) Images of Build: |

Good choice, I have the same colors in my build, fully loaded except no ACC since it wasn't available, no wireless charger and no M color door cards. Is remote start in standard equipment?
If I were you, and money allows, I'd add the package for the larger brakes, fender panels, and nicer wheels..ZTK package in U.S. |

Ok gotcha, I will not be tracking either and I originally didn't add it but I didn't want to regret not adding it when I got the car. Bigger brakes helped me click the Add button.

That makes sense, but I think the regular m sport brakes will work just fine for me. I'm coming from factory brakes on a 228i so m sport brakes are already an upgrade if you think about it.

Nice build! Does the BMW drive recorder come standard in Canada, or is it a separate option? In the US, it is a $100 option and totally worth it! It connects your 360 camera to the dashcam and works really well. Saves $600-$700 if you decide to get a third party system later on, and then you'd have to hide the messy wiring. If you live in an area with bad drivers, the $100 drive recorder is worth the peace of mind. .

Not trying to jack this thread, but I never understood what driverecorder was.. Thundernight, is this a dashcam? or just allows you to connect the onboard cameras to a 3rd party dashcam recorder?

Drive recorder is an app that will save footage from the last 20sec and the next 20sec after you long-hold the camera button. you can configure how long it will record before/after, but 20sec is the longest. you can also configure what cameras, or all of them, that it will save footage from. it will also auto-activate if you're in a crash.
yes, it's kinda like a dashcam... but it does not have a parking feature which many will buy a dashcam for. |

Nice!! Very close to mine, same colors with premium + shadow line, parking assistance/remote start/drive recorder. Was lucky enough to find it on a lot a few weeks ago. Would’ve liked ACC but far from a dealbreaker. I still think this color set is the coolest combo you can get on a 240

I forgot to add that I got the drive recorder with my car since it was $0 because I added parking assistant plus.

I would make two changes, one of which you've already made your case to keep.
1) Black wheels. I don't think they would get hidden, but to each their own. 2) I'd pass on the M Highlighters, Illuminated. I'd rather save the cash.

The black wheels thing is preference, some love them, to me they look like you have steelies or some other cheap wheel.
I agree on M door cards, they look corny and will get old over time. My opinion only |

The issue a lot of people have with them is that you can’t change them. The colors are dyed into the plastic. So they will always look like that, even if you get sick of it. Whereas the standard option changes colors with the rest of the ambient lighting.
