M Chapter track day October 2 at Thermal

BMW CCA M Chapter is headed to the BMW Performance Center in Thermal, California on October 2nd for our M Chapter Day event. The Performance Center West provides current model M cars, instructors, gas, tires, lunch and a first-class facility for a fun-filled day at the track. Just show up ready to drive!

The focus of this event is on improving your driving skills and having fun through a combination of driving exercises, classroom instruction and competitive events. No helmets or previous driving school experience are required. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend.

We had many West Coast fellows asking for M Chapter events in their area. We are headed to Palm Spring for OFest and will be at Thermal that Sunday. We will have dinner setups also so join us for some fun!

I did the two day event there pre-pandemic and had a blast. Great track, great instructors, good food, beautiful weather.

Dang it was expensive though!

Yeah, I did a two day event, no sharing of the car, and it included a couple of nights at the hotel, transportation, etc. so it was not the bargain that this event is.

Lapping the Desert Track @ The Thermal Club. It's a 1.7 mile layout of the Desert incorporating connected cambered corners that mimic driving a mountain road, along with low and high speed sections similar to famous street circuits around the world.

BMW offers a (either full day or 1/2 day) solo seat in an M4 GT3 at Thermal. I so badly want to do it after seeing the pictures above.

I did the M4 GT4 race school last December in Thermal and it was EPIC!!! Driving a real race car on a private road course was incredible. Maybe one day they'll offer a GT3 car
