Performance center delivery?
Is anyone picking up their car at the performance center? I asked and was told they're not doing that because it adds a 3 week delay. Should I pushback? Or ask a manager? My car is now in final assembly so it might be too late anyway.

PCD will typically add about two weeks for you to get your car. Though that depends on location inside US. If the dealership is closer to BMW PCD it will be shorter. I did PCD in April and it added about one week. My dealership adds high profit margin adders like window tinting, N2 for tires, paint surface protection, inside protection coatings to EVERY vehicle sold at the dealership. Those costs can be upwards of $1,500-2,000. By doing PCD, the dealership can not force you to pay those costs, because the car does not go through them. So I am guessing they want to pad some costs to you selling via dealership and not PCD. I would push back and it might not be too late.
If you can swing the time, the experience is great. Here is a link to my PCD: https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1916799 |

I am currently registered to do it once my car makes it to the US. Haven't heard anything in regards to it not being able to happen from anyone, so as of now I still plan on it.

Question: are you guys keeping it under 4500 rpm for that break in period when you get pcd?

Not sure exactly how to answer this, but I'll give you two answers. With PCD you do not drive your own car on the track; you use BMWs fleet of cars. So when I did PCD, I drove their cars well above that RPM. When I drove my car home from PCD, I flirted above that RPM a few times.

Makes sense lol. I did the 2 day m school at Spartanburg, was amazing! While I was there I could see the pcd cars lined up waiting for their owners. There was even a Kith M4. I always wondered about that...
One day I'd like to do European Delivery and break a car in while driving around Europe. Then hit up the green hell for a few laps before I hand the cat back for transport. Edit: NVM, I'm reading now that they cancelled the European delivery program |

When is it too late to line up a PCD? My garage is showing my car is in final production. My salesman told me it is too late that this needs to happen before production begins. I just find that hard to believe.
I have already learned way more from this forum than I got out of the dealership. Thanks |
