On the other hand, replacing the oil pan is a pain in the ass, so if you put a cheap one in and it fails, you have to go through the whole process again. At the end of the day, if you can get a no-name metal pan for cheap, I'd probably go with it given how expensive the OE version is. Hard to screw up a metal casting or stamped metal. Make sure you get a good quality replacement gasket, though. Spend up for quality gaskets, as they don't really cost much in the grand scheme of things. One thing I have not cheaped out on are gaskets or mechanical parts (pumps, things with moving parts, etc.)
