E90 - Racing Seat Retrofit - Proper Integration Help
Calling all E90 owners who have swapped their drivers seat. How do you eliminate the dash from lighting up now that you don't have an occupancy sensor to tell the car someone is actually sitting in the seat? I've tried to code it out but it isn't that simple. I've tried looking up emulators but they're hard to source and are stupidly priced.
Aside from tearing up my OEM seat, and stealing the seat sensor what else can I do? |

Can you elaborate? I'm not looking to disable my airbags completely, but code it so the car always thinks a driver is seated. I believe I can disable the airbags completely but that seems dangerous.

You need to code out side airbags for both driver and passenger.
Code out seat belt tensioner for both driver and passenger. Depending on your model year, you will have to code out seatbelt retractors and active headrests. The curtain airbags and wheel/dash airbag will still work. For the occupancy sensors, see here. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=937160 Yea, occupancy sensor is only for passenger side. So long as the car is on, the wheel airbag will deploy if needed. Dash airbag will also deploy with the wheel airbag because the occupancy sensor will be coded out. Basically, whatever you now have codes for, has to be coded out. |
