I updated mine last night. Navigation has been stuck on “Loading Content…” ever since.

I got in mine the other morning and there was a notification that it had updated the European maps. I acknowledged the message and it restarted the navigation. I think if you are parked and have mobile reception the map update and also the main OTA updates just happen.

I got a message on the MyBMW app when the March OTA was available but by the time I had it downloaded on the phone and went to the car, the car was nearly finished downloading it anyway so I just let it get on with it.

Map version:
Road Map EUROPE Live 2021-4
101032126.3.00, L18_21w47.4-1
GB, IE, 2022-3

My map is set to update automatically. I presume from the above that the GB & Ireland map has updated to 2022-3, but the underlying software is still 2021-4. Can anybody confirm this?

Has anybody done a manual update of the maps, and does it update the software from 2021-4?

If I remember correctly from what I've read before, it will update for the country you're currently in over the air, but not the rest of the map. That it will only start doing when you cross borders (and then again only for that next country). Works well enough for me, so I've never bothered with a manual update.
A manual update is the only way to include all countries in one go, as far as I know.

User error. I removed the usb stick before it finished. Amazed that it just continued where it left off when I plugged it back in.

I downloaded it from BMW in the end. It took about 30 minutes to upload to the car via a USB stick. It's not the simplest of processes but not too difficult either. FYI, the latest map for Europe is around 33GB.

I updated mine too. The last update would fit on a 32GB memory stick - you need to go one bigger on this one. It requires 29.5GB free space on the stick.

Indeed, this is correct. If you want the full update you need to download it.

However, this summer i got the automatic update in BeNeLux and Portugal but even though i crossed, Spain, France, Germany and Poland no updates received there (still in 2022-01...

When looking at the map version in the vehicle, there are a few different version were one looks like a "base map" version and one "regional update". I my vehicle the base was still on 2022-1 with a regional update of 2022-4. I downloaded the latest from BMW and that base version is 2022-3. Now I installed that version and that went ok, now let's see if I will get the regional update to 2022-4 again

OTA is only one coutry, uk for me the rest of eu maps are still 2022-3 and need download from connect drive
