test drive tomorrow

my dealer has been begging me to test drive the 325. i will do this tomorrow and i will report back on my experience. i will pay particular attention to the hesitation that has been discussed in detail. i am hoping that because of different country design rules, this will be a non event.

one possible advantage the australian 325 might have over the US car is that i will have a true 2.5 litre engine as opposed to the 3 litre 325. im not sure about the multi stage air intake on the engine but i will endeavor to find out. i am trusting that all will be well from the start, not just with the test drive but with my car of course. i hope to take delivery of it within 2 weeks. so, i wonder wher my car is now.....

Since it'll be a "real" 325 (2.5l) watch out for a slight flatspot at about 3100rpm. We seem to have this slight niggle in the uk, and it'll be interesting to see if it's present in other countries.

I might be wrong, but the hesitation thing only seems to occur in auto boxes - what are you test driving? Auto or Manual?

I am buying an auto and because of the high profile of BMW in Australia, the autos are the favoured car so I hope to be testing an auto in a couple of hours now.

Condolences to who lost loved ones in London and my very best wishes for all Londoners and their families worldwide directly or indirectly affected by the bombings.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out.
