Trunk shut with everything disconnected, how to open?

Working on some rust above the numberplate, removed and disconnected the trunk handle and key barrel. But left the lock mechanism in place. I did push the latch in to stop it from locking but might have popped out, no idea.

Anyways, did the sanding and then closed the trunk to go get the primer etc as I'm on the street. And it locked. How do I open it? Am I royally screwed?

I think the trunk handle just bridges the power between the harness and the latch.
This method should work.

If it doesn’t work, I’m not sure what else will work, maybe someone else will chime in with additional info.

Worst case scenario, bust the right tail light out, reach in and pull the safety release cable.

It's all good. I opened it with the fob. I thought the opening was done by the cable that I disconnected from the key barrel and in panic mode was pressing down the "lock" button on the keyfob instead of the "trunk unlock". All good, turns out there is another cable that does unlocking with the electricity.

Ahh, I read “everything disconnected” and assumed the battery was disconnected too.

The trunk button the driver side footwell should have worked to open the trunk too.

The cables going to the latch are manual openers, if the latch can receive power, it will open.

There has to be a way to hot-wire it to get the trunk to open. Any way to isolate the wire and/or the fuse? You could jump it at the fuse box if you could figure it out.

I think you can hook up a jump pack or battery to the under hood jump posts and get power to the circuit to pop the trunk.I always make sure to stuff a rag or something in the latch to make sure it can't lock though

I know. It was just for future reference or if someone else runs into the same issue and searches.
