Car draining battery, wipers going crazy... Help

As the title says, my car has an issue where it drains the battery if left for overnight/few days. When I start it the wipers go off and the car cuts power to the windows and mirrors that I can see. Dash looks like a Christmas tree.

Here are my codes:

- DME active codes -

2DEB-DME: Power management, vehicle electrical system.

2E82 DME: Electric coolant pump, cutoff.

2E98 - BSD, message; alternator: Missing.

CD95 Message (operation, cruise control/ACC, 0x194) incorrect, receiver DME, transmitter DSC / SZL/LWS/ACC.

Sidebar - I've already changed the engine ground cable. The battery, the alternator(reman) and the battery ground cable along with the little blue cable that connects to it.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Just replace the battery if you haven't already. Remember: KISS

Modern cars freak out when they have bad batteries. Mine threw out the steering angle sensor when I stalled on a hill and it took about 30 seconds to crank back up, had amber brake light, DSC light, no cruise control. Had to reprogram it with INPA. Wipers going off and a Christmas tree is not uncommon,

That battery was so bad that it would literally not crank without a jump even if you drove 4 hours and tried to cut it back on immediately.

Thanks brother, just added that I changed the battery already. Didn't follow the KISS reference though.

Thinking maybe the voltage regulator? Not sure if they change those on a reman alternator.

Still having the issue .. thanks though.

Light-Show on Instrument Cluster & Wipers Self-activating are common symptoms of "Over-Voltage" or > 16 V Alternator Output with engine running. NOTHING to do with your Battery. 2DEB Fault Code in DME Fault Memory on MSD80 DME has following "Fault Information Link":
https://bmwfault.codes/XMLDiagView?d...AAMwAyADAANAA=

Do NOT continue to run with Over-Voltage, as that will damage your battery and/or DME & other Modules. Use Scan Tool or INPA/ISTA (or DMM) to measure voltage with engine running (KL 87 Voltage or System Voltage). You can even use "Hidden Menu 9.00" to view voltage on the Instrument Cluster. If you have INPA/ISTA, or a Scan Tool that displays "Freeze Frame Data" or Fault Details, your "2DEB" Fault would almost certainly show Voltage > 16V at moment Code was saved.

Over-Voltage can usually be cured by simply replacing Voltage Regulator, which is a $33 to $45 part. HOWEVER, if you have Battery Drain, where a fully-charged battery goes flat overnight (8 to 12 hours), that may indicate an issue with the Alternator Diodes (Electrical Check Valves) which prevent current from flowing from battery to Alternator. Check to see if Alternator body at rear is warm/hot 3 or 4 hours after shutdown.

Clamp Meter, capable of reading DC Current/Amps, would quickly tell WHICH of the three B+ Cables from Battery has Parasitic Draw. If you have ~ 1+ Amp current in LARGE Red Cable going to Alternator/ Starter/ Jumpstart Terminal, then the Alternator Diodes are likely the cause.

I an having an electrical problem too and reading your symptoms I think you should check/replace the IBS Sensor (Intelligent Battery System).

Not sure but after all I have read that could be the cause....

Hopefully you can fix your car soon.

You are describing a failed Voltage Regulator. The alternator makes more electricity than the car can use, the regulator shunts the excess and gives the car what it needs because of the voltage regulator. While engine on, you should have 14.4 volts. The bad regulator is giving you 17, and this goes up with engine speed. The over voltage will kill the battery, so you don't want to test this for too long.

Thanks guys. I ordered the voltage regulator today and should get it tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

New voltage regulator fixed the wiper issue and all the codes!

WoW, cant believe you spend all this money on a reman alternator from one of our trusted vendors and they don't send it with a good regulator.
