Paint Wheels

Hi,

Anyone here paint or touch up their wheels? I have the style 156 wheel with a few blemishes here and there and I wanted to sand and spray them.

trying to figure out what spray color matches these wheels

So far I see Wurth Silver Wheel Paint and duplicolor perfect match for VW are equivalent

I personally think those wheels are the biggest crime against the E9x chassis BMW has ever committed to a production car. The offset and overall look do our cars no favors. I think you'd be better off trying scouring the used market for a decent set of 18" sport wheels before spending any sort of time on these.

Lol they’re fugly AF hey? I have them for my winters. I dread the first snowfall because it means rolling on these haggard pies.

True- As long as maintenance etc is kept up to date, I don't care about the rest. I'm to old for all the upgrade BS now. If I was 25 again, sure. I just keep everything stock now- that's for all my cars. I'm aged out

Plus I switch cars like kim kardashian does d*ck. I'll probably drive this for a year before getting rid of it.

I technically "Rattle canned mine".

But I have a lot of experience and took far too much time doing it.

Technically speaking, painting your wheels is not "stock".

Then why paint your wheels?

there are blemishes- and a $10 bottle of spray paint will help to restore them

and because the "newer" the car looks, the better chance I have of getting max value. Same reason you detail your car and clean your engine bay etc...

If you're planning to spray, you have a much better chance of screwing it up than fixing it up. I'd use a bottle of touch-up paint.

If you insist on spraying, take the wheels off the car and set the wheels flat on a table or on the ground.

You're local- nice

That's the problem- not sure which touch up paint to use that matches what I have

I'd stop by a couple of car dealers and ask who they use for wheel painting, as it might be cheaper than you think.
