For as much as people say the G87's read protrudes, the F87 protrudes just as much, if not maybe a bit more due to the bottom of the rear bumper slanting outwards vs the G87's slanting inwards.

I like the G's bulked up proportions, side profile, and rear.
I still have a soft spot for the 1'er because it lead the way for the first M2 but I never warmed up to its looks.

I know the pitchforks will come out, but does anyone think the 1M actually looks quite ordinary in those pics and even a bit frumpy.

I know I know… arguably th 1M is the greatest m drivers car… but I think I’d have any of the other M2s over a 1M.

It's subtle. You know, the way they used to make M cars. BMW design philosophy included an eye for timelessness. Think E39 M5. Minimal fuss so the car will look good for ages. And only those who know can recognize it. It was never about shouting. Times have changed. I love the 1M. Wish I had ordered one instead of the E92 M3 I got back then.

Drove my F87 to the PC and got to check out a bunch of 1M's (all VO) and the new G87. Needless to say the older ones are very easy on the eyes:

Lol, yeh don’t get me wrong… I absolutely loved the 1m when it first came out, even now I think it’s awesome, but just when looking directly in those comparison pics, its looks no where near as impressive.

Agree, those pics aren't flattering and don't do it justice. Approach to automotive photography has changed a lot since then too.

Have you seen a 1M in person? I can assure you it looks bonkers and wild always! The sharpness of its wild fenders is unique.

Here's mine—over 100,000 miles, stock
