2nd WATER PUMP Failure (Maybe): DME/DDE 2F71 and 2E82 and MOSTGW E18D
Hello all,
A lovely e90 328xi 2007 has now had another water pump related failure. In February I changed the water pump 2x. The first one failed within a day, supposedly because it was an ebay special. I replaced that one with a Dorman and everything was ok. Still, I didn't drive the vehicle at all since then because there were other issues. And maybe in the past 3 months I have been fixing all the other issues and only have driven this vehicle maybe 1000 miles and now the pump has seemingly failed again. I am NOT going to simply replace the pump as I do not believe that is the issue. The codes of interest are 2F71, 2E82 and E18D. 2F71 E-Box fan, input signal. - Does this fan have anything to do with controlling temps so that the current doesn't go too high? 2E82 says the water pump has been shutoff due to over current. I'm wondering if the pump has been shut off by control or whether the pump has died and that is the reason. MOSTGW E18D circuit broken. I've never seen this before and wonder if it might be related. I've attached a screenshot of codes... I hope that someone can at least help provide me with some schematics, images, drawings etc so I can investigate the electrical connections.
