Non-functioning xDrive on E92 - HELP!
Hi to all,
in all desperation, I'm asking for your advice here, maybe someone can help.. In September, I visited local (Czech) good car garage with my E92 335xi (2008) for a xDrive distribution box overhaul. It was still original without a previous overhaul when driving around 230 tkm, and therefore it was already twitching a little. Otherwise, it worked 100%. After about 4 hours, I got the car with a NON-WORKING xDrive. The motor refused to move for calibration. Service owner evaluated the situation from his experience as a defective actuator and, after an agreement, found and sent me a new OEM one. Together with other things, I took the car to the another BMW service center for, among other things, the replacement of the xDrive actuator. But without change. In doing so, they discovered that either by accident or someone's fault, is K.O. control unit for xDrive. So I got a another one (used), functional, 1:1. The (almost) new control unit communicates and has been coded. But without change. So they tried to another actuator. Unchanged. There were a total of 3 of the other actuators they tried, so a total of 5 actuators were non-functional - which is nonsense. None of them respond when trying to calibrate, and the diagnostic throws an error that the operation cannot be performed. They checked the entire wiring, remeasured it. Everything is alright. Tried original BMW diagnostics, tried Delphi, tried Hella, nothing. They tried different settings, nothing. BMW employee's attitude: Defective actuator (nonsense). Consulted with another specialist who do xDrive distribution box overhauls, he doesn't know either. In a few rare cases, it happened that the actuator did not communicate and after its replacement everything was OK. Not in my case. No one can help.. xDrive non-functional, as well as ABS, DTC.. The car is actually unusable for normal driving and we have been solving the problem unsuccessfully for a month. We also tried various xDelete app modes, disconnecting/connecting the car battery and other obvious things, but NO CHANGE. Since there may be a hypothetical suspicion of another reason that is not directly related to the xDrive (that is, for example, another control unit prevents the passage of the signal towards the actuator - even though everything was fully functional until the overhaul), I am sending below a complete list of the functional modifications of the car over the years, in case someone knew it could be that.. BMW E92 335i xDrive 2008 (ZF a/t)
Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!
