Milltek w/Chrome Tips on BSM 2023 M240i

For those of you interested in a Milltek exhaust, here are a couple of pics of the exhaust w/chrome tips on my '23 BSM (US Spec). It's a catback so no cuts. Tips finishes are obvious personal preference - given that the paint is BSM, I like the contrast so I went with these over black ceramic. (Though I can see getting the black ones at some point if I can't keep these clean.)

Install took about 4 1/2 hours in my garage, including raising and lowering the car. Pretty easy install. Only one item I didn't love - the valve control on the right rear outlet (just ahead of the right exhaust tip) comes fixed to the wrong side of the pipe - on the rear bumper side rather than on the side of the pipe facing toward the front of the car. That meant using every bit of extra wire available to reach the valve, and the wire is now brushing up against the exhaust. So I need to add heat protective wrap to the wires.

I need to adjust the tips a little more, but overall I'm pleased with it.

On startup it is remarkably louder than stock. And it has some burbles on downshifts that I didn't notice with the stock exhaust. Thankfully there isn't drone when cruising, which sounds pretty much stock. (Oh, and as an aside, I was pretty surprised at how beat-up the stock exhaust piping was. My car has 500 miles on it so it definitely came from the factory with several dents in the stock system.)

It's been raining here in Atlanta since I installed it late last night, so I'll have to report back when I can drive it with windows down and without the sound of a driving rain deadening the experience.

Thanks everyone.

I ordered directly from Milltek US; I found the info on the exhaust thread on this forum.

I’ll post some sound/video today. Definitely has some burbles on when lifting the throttle when the rpm drops low. And overall a little louder than stock.

I ended up pushing the tips in by about a 1/4” so they stick out less.

How much did it cost, if you don't mind my asking?

I was curious if I could do this at home. I’ll have to investigate it more! Definitely post some sound vids and record the wire issue if you can when you add the heat shroud

Great! I also got the milltek exhaust with my new g42 too.
However, i'm facing a problem, after installed the exhaust and keep use the stock valve controller, my valve controller stop working. Did you have any experience with that?

My solution is adding one more controller to force the original valve open and close, the controller connect to the idrive "back" button to control. Fail to make it auto for sport mode.

Just wondering on how fitment was for you? I just put mine on today and it sounds great but one issue I had with fitment around the middle of the car the left pipe hangs considerable lower than the right pipe causing it to basically rest on the metal brace that goes on below the exhaust. Is this the case for you as well or have I done something wrong?
