XHP finally dropped some maps for the G42 if you've been having problems using the G20 maps like me. Pretty stoked!

I went to their page. There are a few variations and no map information available

What do you mean variations?

Maps should mirror the G20 maps

Never mind me. I confused xph with xhp.

I assume you're referring to the map for the transmission?

Any feedback from anyone that's tried it? The Supra community seems to like it, and most seem to just go straight to Stage 3.

Almost everyone goes straight to stage 3.

I had xhp on my 2018 340 and it was pretty nice. Very customizable if you are into that stuff, but it’s not necessary to customize anything if you don’t want.

The stock trans tuning is so much better with the m240 compared to f30 340 so I’m still on the fence about getting xhp for this car.

xhp is almost a necessacity for the gen 1 b58 as they have torque limits in the stock trans coding so if you have a flash tune you are losing power without xhp. I don’t know if this is still the case with gen 2 like our cars.

I think I'll give it a go, just not sure I'll do it this month or next?

Go for it. One complaint everyone has about it is that in comfort mode the shifts are slower than stock. There is nothing you can do about it either. Issue has existed for many years.

I’m sure I will get it at some point but in no rush.

I was just telling my son that I'm very happy with the OEM Comfort mode for the trans, so that's a little concerning that shifts are even slower.

I wouldn't mind Sport mode being a little snappier, but now I wonder if Sport will be too snappy and Comfort too slow?

Shifts in sport plus were absolutely bonkers

it says raised max RPM to 8k... does it raise redline or just allows the transmission to go up to 8k if an aftermarket tune raises redline?

Only effects trans, it cannot write to the ECU.

(please correct me if I'm wrong)

You are correct.

This just flashes the TCU. It cannot adjust redline at all. Only way to do is with an ecu flash tune.

If you have a flash tune that raises redline then xhp can work with that to allow the trans to take advantage of the raised redline.

Anyone running xhp with their JB4? Curious how it drives in all modes. I’m running custom JB4 map and wouldn’t mind some crisper shifts at the track.

Rev limit being raised to 8,000 - why have they done this? Feel like thats a very high for a turbo car... no?

It does not have the ability to raise the engines rev limit. Only ecu flash tunes can do that.

XHP just has the ability to go up to 8k if your ecu tune allows for it.

Yes, it’s pretty dumb.

Seeing you comment reminded me - some people have been wondering why your 2022 M240i VIN starts with a 'W' (made in Germany) instead of '3MW' (made in Mexico). Any idea?

After reading too much online, I believe the first few digits of the VIN denotes the market for which the vehicle was produced. It’s the 11th? Digit that indicates where the car was manufactured.

If memory serves me correctly, 8 is for Mexico.
