BMW M just unveiled the G87 M2 with M Performance parts at Essen Motor Show in Germany and we had front row seats. We shot a quick video showing the car in 'real life' as the press photos left quite a bit to be desired. Imran shares his thoughts in the video, what does everyone else think?

I don't get using the wrap (assuming that's what it is). Why not show the parts on an available color so you can actually see if it looks good or not?

The center-lock wheels are amazing. I also like the wing. The rest, not for me.

The best part of the rear wing is that it removes the stupid tiny piece that comes stock with the car. I suppose that was BMW's take on a Gurney flap in spoiler form.

When I get my car that is the first thing being removed - even before the window sticker.

The CLAR RWD platform would never be able to produce a car anywhere near that weight, it would require a UKL FWD platform, effectively a Honda CTR competitor. If it was a custom platform, the cost would be significantly higher than the current G87 price for the relatively small volumes.

The only realistic possibility would be a turbo FT86 clone using a flat-4 Subaru engine (BMW current engine offerings are likely too tall to fit in the FT86), from an agreement with Toyota, to get anywhere near that weight and price point.

I can feel the tide already turning on this car....

We all agree the M Performance kit is the worst part of this car, followed by the rear bumper. Otherwise, it's going to be a winning recipe.

Even the best photography can't make up for a really awful subject.

The g80 guys are celebrating not being the laughing stock of the m community anymore.

(Full disclosure. I've got a bunch of m performance parts going on my 23 f90. This is just over the top and the wrap and colors are terrible)

Jesus Christ. Can they get another vent on there somewhere and a couple more winglets? I guess Pep Boys ran out of stock. Mine as well throw some curb feelers on there to and some tinted tail light covers🤮
