18" Winter Wheel and Tire Setup compatible with ZTK
I am happy to confirm that the 18" 796M winter wheels set from BMW fits a 2023 M240i xDrive with the ZTK package.
Here are the specifications and part numbers for the winter wheels and tires: Front:- Wheel specs: 7.5x18 ET: 25 18" M Performance Style 796M Double Spoke Matte Black Tire specs: Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 R-F* 225/45R18 95V XL Part Number: 36-11-2-462-648 Rear:- Wheel specs: 8.5x18 ET: 40 18" M Performance Style 796M Double Spoke Matte Black Tire Specs: 8.5x18 with Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 R-F* 255/40R18 99V XL Part Number: 36-11-2-462-649 I have also attached a couple of pictures. Yes, I know the tires are skinny and it doesn't look as good as the 893M fit but fit, winter drivability and function were my priority than looks especially for winter in New England. |

Nice. Those are the ones the service advisor told me to order. They are at the dealership waiting for when my car comes in if it ever gets out of the Ready to Transport phase,

Before I chose to buy the BMW wheels, I had a couple of conversations with tirerack reps and from what I understand they said that even if I match the offsets, the wheel might not necessarily clear the brakes because of the design geometry. They recommended buying 1 wheel to test and then order the rest. If the wheel doesn't fit, you can ship it back and they charge around $35-$50 restocking fee depending on if the wheel had a tire mounted on it or not. I don't have a garage or the tools to try wheels so I went down the official BMW wheel route. My dealer parts shop was responsible for the guaranteed fitment. |

Logically, it is straight forward. Switching tires means you don't have wheel expense, but you do have mounting/balancing expense twice per year. Probably $100 each time.
Additionally, tires only means you have to go somewhere to get the switch done when they are available, rather than doing it in your garage on your schedule, if you have tires and wheels. In addition, there is always the possibility that the tire shop will scratch or more severely damage a wheel. (both of those have happened to me more than once.) To be transparent, I have not worried about this since I left northern Michigan 15 years ago. |

Hi, I have the exact car in New England Have you done any spirited driving with this package yet? It just snowed here yesterday, so I am also curious if you drove in the snow? Cheers.

Is there any reason you didn't go with all four in the 8.5" size, even if spacers were needed in the front, and maybe 245's all the way around?
Did you also buy a set of TPMS sensors? Curious what a set of those cost? |

I have the 898M set with WinterContact TS860S tires and I've been quite happy with it. |
