How many miles or km have you driven?

I have had my car exactly 11 months and currently have 12,401 miles on it. Still exhilarating and fun to drive. I do have a Jeep Liberty I use in cold weather and anywhere shopping carts could be flying around the parking lot. And if I need to carry more than 1 passenger.

Wondering how long you have had your car and how much you have driven it.

I just picked up the car on Wednesday, so I only have 32 miles so far. I am leaving tomorrow for about a 900 mile road trip.

Have you looked behind you? There are 2 more seats in the rear!

Many years ago I looked into buying a new Datsun 280Z. I asked the salesperson about the extremely crowded back seats. His response “it is perfect for 2 small children or one very drunk friend”. Ours is slightly larger but I wouldn’t want to sit there. Only passenger I have had in the back was my 9 y/o grandson.

Bad weather keeping you from driving more? I had double that after my first 2-3 days

When I was a kid, my dad had a 76 208Z 2+2. We drove from Connecticut to Florida for vacation one year with my 9 year old self jammed in the back.

Not really. I had it for over a week before I had it registered. So, except for a few 1/2 mile neighborhood jaunts, I didn't get to take it out. Then, with 15 miles on the clock, I got a "replace battery" warning. Seems the transport guy left it in neutral with the park brake on, not knowing (nor was he told by the dealer in Cali) that it would drain and kill the AGM battery we have. I didn't let that deter me much right away though, as a few days after registering it, I drove 30 miles to the detail shop for PPF/ceramic work. Dropped it off on a Friday night and got it the following Thursday. 10 mins and 3 miles later, I pulled it into the BMW dealer's service bay, with 48 miles on 'er. They replaced the battery (under goodwill, as it was not warranted). Picked it up the next day, and doubled the mileage over this past weekend.

I also work from home, and have a 2nd car for crappy road conditions (I've only put 5000 miles on that since 2018, and 1400mi of that was moving from Chicagoland to Utah). I'll finish the 1200mi break-in by this time next year.

The battery really isn't covered under warranty? I've had batteries replaced under warranty on a Ford, VW, Mercedes.

Not in my situation. They reviewed the logs and determined that it failed b/c the car was left in neutral while turned off for a considerable amount of time (the 3 days it took to transport it from San Jose and SLC). Apparently this prohibits the car from fully shutting down, and kills the battery. This is deemed as CID (customer induced damage) and not covered under warranty.

Picked it up Dec 14 about 400 miles. Been driving it as much as possible to get the 1200mile break in period over with. Unfortunately they’ve all been short trips < 20 miles each time.
