R u tuned? Which tune? And is it off the shelf tune?
If it's off the shelf tune u need to flash to stock and reinstall ur stock dp
Noone will pass u if u have catless
U have to have all systems in "ready"

If u were tuned by a tuner, talk to ur tuner in person not email or phone call.

Hey OP. NY resident and auto inspector here. It is VERY difficult to get it to pass with a catless dp in NY. First, the tune disables 3 monitors. NY only allows 1 to be not ready. So the tune has to be removed. Next, getting all the other monitors to ready up, and have the cat to be 'not ready' last, is damn near impossible on a BMW. So difficult, that me, with direct access to the inspection machine, chose to buy an under the counter sticker from someone I know. Next year I'll do the swap back to stock and get a legit sticker. This is mandatory. NY will not renew your registration if your car does not pass inspection on a regular basis.

Be warned though, we are due to get California's inspection machine which means no tunes at all. It was due to arrive last November but for some unknown reason they delayed it. The new machine will print individual stickers with VIN and plate numbers on them like they did 20 years ago.

wow thats actually the saddest thing i heard, commiyork in full effect i guess. Well i guess its time to go to florida! i heard that any exhaust modifactions wont pass inspection, i have a midpipe/resonator delete. any issues there?

Talk to your tuner they can make a costume tune, that’s what I do every year
