Angled vs. Level Oil Change

Has anyone noticed much of a difference in the amount of oil that comes out when draining with the car level vs. only the front lifted?

In the past I have always used 4 floor-jacks to lift the car level, but now I'm wondering if I can get even more old oil out if I drive the front tires up on ramps, as maybe more oil will drain from the oil cooler? As a plus I'm sure driving up on ramps will be a lot easier/quicker than messing with the 4 floor-jacks.

Thoughts?

I havent looked buy typically your drain plug is on the back of the oil pan so one would think buy tilting the car toward that drain plug would in fact cause more oil to come maybe even faster than if it were level. Your KTM might be different than my yamaha but its suggested you tilt the bike side to side during an oil change to remove as much used oil as possible.

I know what you're talking about, but this car has the drain in flat portion of the pan. Tilting it will likely leave a small amount between the pan wall and the plug, but I was wondering if you'd come out ahead if you get more out of the oil cooler and lines.

I would also assume a lot of people use race ramps simply because it lifts the car enough to get under it.

It's probably splitting hairs. You never can get all the oil out anyways.

Based on the pic attached, it appears the oil drain plug is at the rear, driver side of the oil pan.

For DIYers like ourselves, it looks like we could maybe get away with only jacking up the front passenger side? That is, if it’s inconvenient to have both sides up in the air at once.

I plan on jacking up the passenger side using the side jack point and placing my old rhino ramp under the passenger wheel. At least until I pull the plug and get some QuickJacks

If it's only done for 2-3 seconds I bet it wouldn't be any worse than all the cars that are turning off their engines at a red light and then immediately starting and shooting off as soon as the light turns green. This could push out the remaining oil in all the cooler and lines?

It's sorta comical how many engines I hear starting when leaving an intersection.
