M2 and other models at Rolex 24hr

As most of you are already aware Rolex 24hr will take place next Saturday the 28th, but other races and activities/hot-lap will start Monday the 23rd. There will be several BMW senior executives at the race and if myself or anyone else are able extract actual facts and production details please post here. Also I will be posting pics on M's and other model at display. Looking forward to seeing LMP BMW and Porsche!

My son and I will be arriving Thursday evening or very early Friday. Very excited for the new LMDH class and GT3 lineup. I really hope a G87 will be there in ZB (so I can finally put that color out of my mind) or my ordered TR.

Is this a big deal?
Genuinely curious as you posted about the "Rolex" and I had no idea what you were talking about and had to Google it

The Rolex 24hr at Daytona marks the start of the racing year. Since it's the only 24hr sports car event on our shores, typically a ton famous drivers take part, as well offer manufacturers a platform to showcase new products. Because the facilities are so large, the OEM's set up lots big enough to show three or four new models.

Also, events like this have lots of enthusiasts who like racing and/or have a collector type sports car that they bring to their manufacturer "corral" as T_U_D mentioned. This effectively turns parts of the race facilities into car shows for laymen folk as well.

I have been going 25yrs years now and even in my late 30's enjoy all the stuff available, and the opportunity to camp with my boys and have some beer while watching awesome cars and an ear deafening symphony of metallic explosions dominate my life.

Admittedly, that last point is getting lamer. In fact, since about 2008 the volume levels are going down every year.

Will be parking near the champions club/M club. However I do tend to walk to the CCA stand few times during the race. Will you be at the race?

Agree, I would say since 2019 volume is keep being muted. Those RSR car sound was intoxicating. Last two year it was though to tell if BMW was running EV or ICE.

Is the ZB that richness in person?

I wish that green was available on the M2.

It looks pretty close to the 1st photo in direct sunlight in person. The 2nd photo in the shade is a little deeper than I remember seeing it in person but not by a lot.

Switching my order to ZB. Also, at over 6ft and only 175, the carbon buckets are terrible. Maybe you need fluff to feel comfortable in them haha.

Yeah. These pics are making me think ZB over Cognac. Orginal build is BG over Black.

Good thing I got time. Maybe the dealership will get an M2 in ZB before my order is locked in. But I’m not holding my breath.

It’s a tuff life…

Yeah, I could have told you that. Lioe the looks of the cf buckets but for me, as a daily driver, looks is all they would be good for.

My 0.02, No. It looks nothing like that in person. A lighter shade of blue.

Agreed.

My wife and I went back and forth looking at these pictures on her iPad Air. Wish they were the exact same 3/4 rear view angle, but it’s close enough.

I explained that some are saying the ZB in this pic is not truly the depth of the color in person. It’s more ‘washed out’ or ‘much lighter’. Showed her some videos of ZB and BG. BG changes from dark grey to almost white/silver. Seeing that I wanted a F87 M2C in HS, this color change appeals to me.

I don’t think I can pull this pastel blue color off long term. I think it looks cool, but just not for me.

So I’m locking in BG over Black interior.

One less thing to worry about. Now I sit back and wait…

I thought the same thing but changed when I realized it looks better in person to me and it's a unique launch color. Also makes brake caliper choice easier for me.
