G87CS/CSL Wish List
Lets look ahead, far, far, into the year 2024 and make a wish list for special edition G87s. Whether a CS or CSL, here's what I'm hoping for.
1: Manual Transmission, without this, the car is a complete non-starter. 2: Individual Paint, tired of the typical 3 shades of Gray. 3: No BS and I do mean complete and utter BS, taking away standard equipment in the name of 'weight savings.' We all know it's total bullshit, we know you're doing it to save pennies on potentially a six figure car. We're tired of it. If Porsche can make a GT3 Touring or hell even a standard GT3 without needing to take out Comfort Access, Dual Zone Climate Control, or hell, F'ing Cupholders, so can you BMW. 4. Actual Measurable performance gains from changes to the body, no, we don't need fake canards or wings that belong on a mid 2000s WRX. Something cool and purposeful. What's on your wish list?

Plus 1 on above stuff
Manual seats to save on weight Carbon fiber hood/trunk/etc to save more weight Maybe ccb to reduce more weight but I’m sure at this point this thing is easily 100k. Better HP ratings than the M2C with a manual. |

I know its a wish list, or more of a dream list, as car manufacturers are not making all out track cars for production sales. Why dont you buy a low priced used car and build a race car? You could have all the things you want... |

Wish list:
- 6 speed manual (more robust engagement, shorter throws) - High quality cloth seats/interior - Redesigned tail lights - M performance exhaust as standard - Fender/side gills - Individual paint - Widening the inner trunk space to allow a full set of golf clubs to lay horizontally - Better designed carbon bucket seats without the lump in the middle and less aggressive thigh bolsters - No fake exhaust sound - New rims What I think we're probably going to get: - Automatic only - New front bumper - 1 new exterior paint color - negligible weight savings - 30 hp bump - LCI headlights and tail lights - Same carbon seats (but as stand alone option) - Black badge "Competition" - Possibly x-drive - New rims (cast) |

judging by what’s been coming out with a CS/CSL badge I don’t have high hopes.
The “L” part of the equation has to be more prioritized, because a 3800lb, $100k M2 CSL would be sad. No manual would also be sad—and yet look at the M3/M4 CS and CSL—no manual.

I literally LOL at the new rims (cast) because we're all so use to the M2 being neglected. I doubt that the CS/CSL however will get cast wheels. That's an easy weight reduction for them to do so they will. The overall weight savings however will be a joke. The M3 CS proves that, it's only 75 lbs lighter.

The G87 in stock form will scarcely weigh 3800lbs, and you're saying a CSL will weigh that much? Come on man...

A fully integrated, steering wheel mounted Fleshlight that can be controlled by iDrive 8.
Call it the M2 CSL BJ. |

No don’t think BMW are going to keep the weight down. The M4 CSL is 3700 lbs. My guess is we will get a 3800 lb M2 CS

If the G80 CS sets a precedent then any weight loss will not be significant for a potential G87 CS. It would also be xDrive and auto only.
Source evo; BMW is claiming a 20kg weight reduction over an M3 Competition XDrive, which would make the new CS weigh in at around 1760kg. That’s 95kg up on the 1625kg M4 CSL (as claimed, our tested figure comes in at 1640kg), although the CSL’s lightweighting measures are both more drastic, with that model also only rear-wheel drive. evo — New 2023 BMW M3 CS revealed – CSL power for ultimate M3: https://www.evo.co.uk/bmw/m3/204675/...or-ultimate-m3 Last edited by T_U_D; 01-28-2023 at 02:06 PM.. |
