Has anyone been able to place an order for MY2024 M4?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has been able to place an order for MY2024 M4? I have been trying to order an M4 since last week, my sales advisor told me they are not able to create an order for an M4 due to the change over to MY 2024 in the US. I know the German configurator is showing the MY 2024 update, but the US site is still showing MY 2023. Is anyone else experiencing this issue with placing an order for an M4?

Thanks

you were able to put an order in for the M4 since sometime in January. Allocations for March production were released Saturday which includes the M4 (dealer allocations vary)

My dealer called me last night to let me know that an allocation was available. I put myself on the list as either #4 or #5 in November.

Waiting for allocation

I was trying to get a MY2023 M4 on 1/28, but rep told me I was out of luck as they started taking orders for MY2024 M4 only. I am 1st in their list to get allocated. I am planning to call at the month mark to ask for progress (avoid being annoying and looking desperate...which I am). She did say the wait, once allocated, has been a min. of 6 months.

That’s about right, four months if you’re lucky, but most often closer to six months on the M4’s.

Doesn't the model year change over usually happen at the end of August/early September?

I was able to get an allocation yesterday and a build week. They are now taking orders for MY 2024 units. Build week is slated for 12th week of 2023.

Thanks to your discussion here, I decided to stop by to ask about the car, and do some changes. Result: Car has gotten 111 status recently (got production #, but not reflected on site yet) and I came at the right time to do changes...uffff!! (my actual sales rep is on vacation for 2 weeks).

FYI: They told me that production is moving faster than before, so BMW would start, on-time, their MY2024 production this coming March, and I could have the car by May...we will see. I start tracking now.

Do we know when the M3 LCI would be announced for 2024? I’m looking fwd to seeing the updates and possibly trade my current g80 for one when available. Wondering if I should start putting my name on the list earlier so that it’ll be delivered when they’re released.

M3 LCI is going to be MY2025, not 24. Start of Production is July 2024.

Honestly that's what I thought he meant; the LCI in calendar year 2024. In other words, when are we going to get official details on it. I don't know why it would be any earlier than like Jan 2024 but what do I know. Maybe something will leak earlier.

Ah I thought it would be announced for 2024 not in 2024. I guess we got a while to go.

Same goes to the M4 with the curved display and OS8 as far as I know (production also starts in March).

Yes, i am aware of these dates.

OP was asking about the usual MY transition excluding special trims or LCI updates.

Yep, this is exactly right. M4 is transitioning next month, along with the M3 CS. Non-CS M3s don't cut over until July production.
