Journalist Review Timeline
I think we're all expecting official reviews pretty soon.
BMWBLOG mentioned theirs coming "in a few weeks" over the Daytona weekend. I have to imagine they won't be the first to get their hands on one (no offense). That puts us at next week 2/19 for the big publishers? |

The reviews done in Austria over the summer of a very close to production version were interesting and good enough. The car will be good. I dont care what the mainstream press say. Buying no matter their 'take'. I have a 22 M240ix. If you have driven the M240i - things will only get better. The press can review I will be too busy enjoying both to care.
Need insight into the new M2 and you have not ordered - test 1 if you are able. Fk the press. Most are Corporate shills yielding borderline honest reviews. YouTube is worse. Some people worship some former limo driver as some fkn guru of auto knowledge and driving skill lol. Test, sense what you feel and how the car fits into your life/planned useage etc. Had I listened to even good friends, I would not have bought a few cars that ended up being superb/amazing and sorely missed. I had Ferrari friends telling me not to waste time with Lotus. How dare you, a shop car, no heritage, cheap blah blah blah. I bought 3, never had any major issues - zero. Normal maintenance, much I did myself. Daily drove 1 of them for a year. Rain, sun didnt matter. Had a blast. Climbing DOWN into my handmade exotic after work and driving home with a grin. Those Ferrari fools paid more than double for any part and or service. Morons one and all. Oh yes.........they could say they had a Ferrari. Fk my Lotus' were all faster than any 308/328 or 348 and 355 of the era they owned. They cost more to attain and own - if they werent afraid of driving the stupid things, lest they break down. Who followed his friend as his 328 over heated and guided him home? Me in my 86 Lotus Turbo Esprit HCi lol. Over 10 years of Lotus fun. No review required...ever. |

Regardless of when automotive journalists will get to test drive them there will be an embargo. Don't expect anything to be published before April.

Apologies if this is old news, but Youtuber Joe Achilles is a friend, and he told me last night that he flies to Phoenix on Thursday, and the embargo lifts early hours of Monday 3rd April. I don’t think it was a secret so I’m safe to pass it on.
He’s picked a ZB auto with carbon buckets, as he thinks they’ll all be popular choices. He’s also driving the XM. |

Uncertain as to why they keep referring to it as a 2024 when it is a 2023 Model Year, even the ordering guide states such. |
