Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm in the market for a radar detector. Something that will give me the best bang for my buck. Something with directional arrows and I was probably going to mirror wire it

I have a Valentine 1, gen2. Connected to power in the mirror. This is my 4th Valentine 1. Had 3 gen 1, 2 of which were traded in for upgraded models. They have all been great, from the arrows, bogey counters, to the fantastic range. Recent tests have shown the gen 2 to have better front, rear and side detection ranges than competitors.

How do you think it competes to the higher priced detectors like the R8

It is usually ranked 1st in performance in comparisons. You can Google a Car & Driver that was published last year that compares it to a couple others including the 360, and it has the best range front and rear (2 miles each way), and around a 90 degree curve.

Sorry to bump an old thread but V1 Gen 2 with cars that have Gesture Control will trigger false Laser hits. I just used mine for the 1st time today and I had to disable Laser (for now) to get rid of the annoyances. I went through the forums and it looks like some cover the Gesture control with electrical tape.

Theres gotta be a better way.

Unfortunately, no way other than to disable laser or gesture control. But to be honest, if you get hit by laser they already have your speed. I turned off the laser instead.
